Doha:

The Qatari Olympic Academy has announced the opening of registration for the 14th edition of the Diploma of the Advanced Administration of Sports and Olympic Institutions, which is one of the main pillars of the programmes offered annually by the Academy on its agenda.

The programme was first introduced by the Academy in 2008 to be one of the first twenty Olympics in the world and the first Olympic Academy to be applied in Arabic after having translated and approved its content by the International Olympic Committee.

The diploma system covers seven classes in seven months, at a rate of three days per month, after which the students will receive the diploma certificate issued by the International Olympic Committee, signed by Mr. Thomas Bach, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee, as well as the signature of His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, Chairman of the Qatari Olympic Committee, as well as the certificate of completion of each chapter, which will bear the title of each chapter.

Those who are enrolled in the diploma are subject to several conditions, the most important of which is that the students have obtained a bachelor ' s degree in any specialty, or have passed the Olympic Movement principles courses in the sports system (management 1), as well as the modern management course for sports and Olympic institutions (management 2), which the Qatari Olympic Academy frequently evaluates each year and more often during one year ' s calendar, in order to allow the largest number of people who wish to join the programme, which is very popular each year.

The students in the diploma programme receive many of the sciences that serve them in the field of their sports, management and artistic life. The titles of the classes vary to cover most aspects, such as the structure of Olympic sports institutions, the strategic planning of sports institutions, the management of major events in sports institutions and other sciences covered by the diploma, which are quoted from the book of the Department of Olympic Sports Organizations of the International Olympic Committee, which was translated into Arabic by the Qatari Olympic Committee.

The programme begins on February 6, 2024, with the first chapter entitled Organizational Structures of Sports Enterprises, and on March 5, with the second chapter entitled Strategic Planning. The third chapter, entitled Human Resources Management, will be organized on April 23, followed by the fourth chapter, entitled Financial Management, on May 28, for the fifth chapter, Sports Marketing Administration, on June 25. The sixth chapter, Management and Management of Major Events, will be held on September 17, after the summer of 2024, after which the final class will be attended to present final offers for graduation on October 15, next year.

For his part, Mr. Khalil Ibrahim Al-Jaber, Executive Director of the Qatari Olympic Academy, said: The Diploma of Advanced Management of Sports and Olympic Institutions is one of the most important programmes of the Qatari Olympic Academy and one of the basic pillars of the Academy calendar each year, which annually bears a high level of interest in the study of the sports, administrative and Olympic sciences, which we always seek to present on our annual agenda because it has great benefits for its participants.

Jaber stressed that the arrival of the Academy to present the 14th edition was proof of the success of the programme and the strength of its academic content, as well as its great importance for scholars, which reflected positively on practical students, whether they worked on the administrative or technical side.

The Executive Director added that the diploma and the courses he was entitled to were among the most important programmes that sports workers must attend to, because of the importance of the subjects raised by those programmes in their field of work. The topics and titles discussed were taken from the book of the Olympic Organizations of the International Olympic Committee, which was the sponsor of the diploma. Through this information, the students could re-elaborate their careers by drawing up their plans and programmes and learning what was important and what was important.

Al-Jaber stressed that the Academy was working to adopt the programme as part of the Ministry of Education ' s high school roster, which was one of the partners of the Qatari Olympic Academy to add a strong and important point in a renewed phase of the programme.
